Labeled: An Improvised Exploration​

 

Inspired by her solo show Judged, Karla Dingle leads an improvised exploration of the labels we carry — the ones given to us, and the ones we give ourselves. Using photography, personal storytelling, and audience participation, Labeled! transforms words into windows, revealing the vulnerability, humor, and strength that live behind every name, assumption, and identity.

Each performance unfolds in real time as improvisers respond to the images and stories shared, creating scenes that are as spontaneous as they are sincere. The result is an evening that is raw, funny, and deeply human — a reminder that when we dare to be seen, we also see one another more clearly.

For Touring Ensembles - Karla would direct and perform along with 4-5 improvisers curated by either Karla, the Festival or the theater.
