Know Where You Are
July 6
In this workshop, we’ll put that judgy piece of our brains to rest! Focus on the positive choices you make in a scene. Learn how to praise your choices and uplift your scene partner. Give yourself grace as you play and begin to put into practice the understanding that nothing will ever be perfect and it's the imperfections that are interesting!
In this workshop, we’ll dive into location and how it's like a 3rd scene partner. If you know where you are - you know:
-
What to do
-
How to speak
-
Who you are
-
Why you are there
We'll play with the same conversation in different locations. We'll focus on space work and object work. We'll explore scene painting and more.
Taking It Slow
August 24
We'll look at how to make your scenes personal and to raise the stakes. We'll find the game but have it based in character's point of view or based in the relationship. We'll dig into the story arc to figure out where this scene takes place in that character's story. By the end of this workshop, you'll increase your confidence in longer scenes and in taking your time to build with your scene partner.
MULTI-WEEK CLASSES
Yes And Evolution
June 15, 22 & 29
Improv continues to evolve and the rule that started all "YES AND" seems to be changing as well. While agreement is important for collaboration and scene building saying yes to all offers doesn't always facilitate at positive environment or scene.
What if you could say no and still build a scenes? What if you could say maybe and move the scene in a more palatable direction? What would that do for your play level and scene work? We'll work to answer these questions over the course of 3 weeks.
